Why upholstery needs more than vacuuming
A sofa absorbs everything a room throws at it: dust, skin cells, food, sweat and spills that soak past the surface into the foam. Vacuuming lifts the loose material on top and leaves the rest. Deep extraction pulls it out of the padding, which is the difference between a sofa that looks clean and one that actually smells clean.
Fabric and leather handled differently
We check the upholstery code and test an unseen area before starting. Fabric suites are shampooed and hot-water extracted. Leather needs a gentler clean and conditioning afterwards, since aggressive detergent strips the finish and leaves it dry and prone to cracking. Loose covers, cushions and armchairs are treated as part of the set.
Odours, pets and stubborn marks
Pet odour and long-standing spills sit in the padding rather than the surface, so masking them with fragrance does nothing for long. We treat the source with enzyme-based products where appropriate. Some marks, particularly old dye transfer and bleach damage, cannot be reversed, and we will say so rather than charge you for an attempt that will not work.
Back in use quickly
We use controlled moisture and extraction so furnishings are damp rather than soaked, typically usable again within a few hours depending on ventilation and fabric thickness. Booking a morning slot generally means the room is back to normal by evening.
